THE ROYAL WEDDING

Oh, my goodness. I can’t even begin to say how delighted and excited I am for the Royal Wedding at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.  I desperately wanted to be there during this historic and blissful time but my schedule did not allow it to happen.

I was able to be there this past April and it was a beautiful sight to see where Harry and Meghan will be getting married. I could see why they chose St. George’s Chapel as it’s a more intimate setting.

Growing up in the era of Princess Diana, seeing her wedding to Prince Charles, and then her death. Watching her boys grow into men and then seeing Prince William’s wedding to Catherine. I’m thrilled, absolutely thrilled that Prince Harry has found his Lady. I’m also thrilled for Ms. Meghan Markle. She’s a woman who did everything on her own, a woman in her own right, a strong woman and a woman who can stand on her own.

Prince Harry is lucky to have her in his life. And Meghan is just as lucky to have him in her life.
Together they can conquer the world.

Congratulations to the Prince Henry of Wales and the soon to be Princess Henry of Wales. I’m thrilled for both of you. XO

Rose

Approaching The First 100 Days…

Approaching The Infamous “First 100 Days”. This is what’s currently happening with President Trump. He’s approaching this presidential milestone and all the news organizations are covering it like bees on honey. What has he done? What hasn’t he done? How many times has he went golfing? How many times did he say “fake news”?  The list can go on and on.

What I find interesting is that the first one hundred days of a presidency isn’t any different than, let’s say, a new relationship. Or the first one hundred days of a new job. Even the first one hundred days of a new friend. It’s all brand new in the beginning, we’re kind of floating in the air when we think of a new boyfriend (or girlfriend). We call this the honeymoon phase. Will it last past the three month mark? Will he (or she) change before our eyes and not be the same person we met in the beginning? Will he (or she) continue on with those beautiful bouquets of flowers being delivered? These are our thoughts when we reach the First 100 Days.

The same feelings happen with a new job. It’s all brand new and exciting, you’re meeting all new people and getting to know the basics of your new job assignments. After the First 100 Days your medical benefits kick in. And also at that time you have a pretty good idea if you like the job.

The “First 100 Days” of anything in life is a tell-tale sign of new beginnings and excitement. But also fear of the unknown.

Make those “First 100 Days” of anything in life all it can be. Just make it lovely.

Love,

Rose

BRIGHTER THAN THE SUN…

I Leave June 2016 With Half The Year Gone And With These Lyrics…

‘Don’t you blink you might miss it
See we got a right to just love it or leave it
You find it and keep it
‘Cause it ain’t every day you get the chance to say
Oh, this is how it starts,
Shining how we want, brighter than the sun.’

2016 And So It Goes…

As You Can See, My Last Post was in October of 2015. I wrote about my incredible adventure in Paris, France. Less than a month later, a terrorist attack happened on the outskirts of the City. I was heartbroken. Truly heartbroken. This is why I have not written. My silence began.

With a new year, there are new dreams and things to look forward to.  And with that, I would like to wish everyone Peace.

Reach High. Dream Big. And Love.

Love,

Rose

LOVE LOVE LOVE PARIS. AND NO TIPPING…

101

Just recently I went on an amazing trip to Paris, France. It was a spur-of-the-moment vacation with a good friend and I couldn’t have been planned a better trip. We stayed at the Hotel Ares Eiffel which is a small boutique hotel and within walking distance of everything. We turned the corner of the hotel and there were restaurants every few feet. The Eiffel Tower and the Seine River was a twenty minute walk. Not far at all. The Metro, their version of the MTA of New York City, was clean and not crowded. I ride the MTA transit system all the time.  As much as I love New York City, you can take me (and my belongings) and place me right in the City of Paris. Forever. I would be perfectly happy.

I heard so many stories about how they don’t like us Americans and they wish we wouldn’t visit their country. I must say that they are the nicest people. They guided us to the right location every time. Most of them spoke English and when they didn’t speak our language they did their best to accommodate us. I love love love Paris and I will definitely go back again someday.

One of the things that we couldn’t figure out while we dined at the restaurants in Paris was whether to tip the waiter or not. After several meals we decided to ask a Frenchman that was also dining. He told us that we are NOT to tip and that it was included in the check. We did so anyway, I guess being from New York City, we felt we should. I will say the waiters were very happy. This brings me to say what’s happening with the restaurants in New York City. Some restaurants are doing away with the notion of the customer tipping…or not.

More New York restaurants are expected to switch to service-included systems in the coming year to help cope with rising labor costs. The state’s tipped minimum wage, which is what waiters and bartenders make before tips, will rise by $2.50 to $7.50 in January; restaurants can avoid the impact of that law by raising prices, banning tips, and paying their service-staff the full minimum or more.

TIPPING
Don’t forget to visit Paris. It was so lovely.

BRUCE JENNER…I AM A WOMAN.

bruce-jenner2

BRUCE JENNER, The Olympic Gold Medal Winner at the 1976 Olympics has announced his inner soul is a woman.  I was captivated when watching this compelling interview with Diane Sawyer. The sit down interview generated over seventeen million viewers. He was sincere and genuine, emotional at times and very touching. Here is a man, and after sixty-five years of living, has finally told his secret. He mentioned telling all three of his ex-wives, his family, his children. He said, “There have been 432 episodes and ten seasons of his reality television show, and the one true story, the one story to tell, is something that he had to keep private.”

I felt incredible sadness for him. Carrying this with him for so long. He lived his life putting everyone else first. Now it’s time for her. Good for you to explore this side of yourself. I hope you find happiness and I hope you open the platform for others to be as brave and courageous as you are.

You’re just lovely.

Love,
Rose

Me VS. Kim…Who Wore It Better?

me.vs.kim

Me vs. Kim Kardashian. Who Wore It Better? Yes, they are different dresses. Yes, she was pregnant at the time. However, it’s the same idea of being covered in a floral print. We both had the same idea. I love flowers and I love my dress. I love her dress too.

When we look at fashion, we need to not look only at the dress but everything that is accessorized with it. The hair, make-up, shoes, and jewelry  can make all the difference.

So, Who Wore It Better? I know my pick (wink, wink).

Passover and Easter…

dv1395027

Passover, the Jewish holiday known as Pesach in Hebrew, commemorates the Israelites’ escape from Egyptian slavery and is observed with ritualized meals that consist of unleavened bread and many cups of wine.

2015Easter

On Easter Sunday, Christians celebrate the resurrection of the Lord, Jesus Christ. It is typically the most well-attended Sunday service of the year for Christians.

Today, both are very religious holidays fell on the same day. It is a day to be spent with family and friends to celebrate and to reflect.

Have a wonderful Passover and a Happy Easter.

Love,
Rose
