And So It Goes…

The 2019 Year is upon us and with it so many magical and exciting moments to come. But first we must mention how wonderful and amazing 2018 was. On a personal level, I traveled extensively (at least for me). I very much wanted to see the Royal Wedding but scheduling constraints didn’t allow that to happen. But we did go in April and Her Royal Highness Catherine was about to give birth.
it was a bit of a frenzy but it was exciting to be on the other side of the pond during that time. We saw everything there was to see in London and we even took a train to Windsor Castle. It was a quaint town. St. George’s Chapel was historic and beautiful.

Next up was Italy. My goodness, Italy captured me. When I went to Paris, France, I was ready to move there. But after my trip to Italy, it was all about Italy. Italy was a family trip and maybe that’s why it pulled at my heart. My parents are from Italy and I was there as a child but, as an adult, I could feel it through my bones. My father is from the Puglia region and it’s just spectacular. We saw Pogliano, Ostuni,
Trani, the city of Bari, Alberobello. Then we went to the Amalfi coast; Amalfi, Ravello and Positano. How you see it in pictures is exactly how it looks in person. Just magnificent. I couldn’t get enough of it.  We went to the small towns of my families and that’s where my heart is. The history, the countryside. The Campania region is breathtaking (this is my mother’s region).

Lets not forget Rome. As soon I entered the Roman Walls I was transferred back in time. I can’t even
describe what I was feeling. The history of the Vatican, Colesseo, Trevi Fountain, Spanish steps.

I don’t even have to mention the food. Like no other. Period.

Now that 2019 is within reach, I wish everyone near and far, much love, happiness, peace on Earth and most of all, good health. Reach For The Stars!

Happy New Year 2019!

Love,
Rose Xo

THE ROYAL WEDDING

Oh, my goodness. I can’t even begin to say how delighted and excited I am for the Royal Wedding at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.  I desperately wanted to be there during this historic and blissful time but my schedule did not allow it to happen.

I was able to be there this past April and it was a beautiful sight to see where Harry and Meghan will be getting married. I could see why they chose St. George’s Chapel as it’s a more intimate setting.

Growing up in the era of Princess Diana, seeing her wedding to Prince Charles, and then her death. Watching her boys grow into men and then seeing Prince William’s wedding to Catherine. I’m thrilled, absolutely thrilled that Prince Harry has found his Lady. I’m also thrilled for Ms. Meghan Markle. She’s a woman who did everything on her own, a woman in her own right, a strong woman and a woman who can stand on her own.

Prince Harry is lucky to have her in his life. And Meghan is just as lucky to have him in her life.
Together they can conquer the world.

Congratulations to the Prince Henry of Wales and the soon to be Princess Henry of Wales. I’m thrilled for both of you. XO

One Election Year Later…

Has anything really changed since last November’s Election? It’s been one year since Hillary Clinton lost the election and Donald Trump became the 45th President of the United States. “What Happened” Hillary Clinton?  We all have so many questions. No, I did not read the book (yet). I’m not sure if I want to.

If any voter was concerned about what Donald Trump would do as President, there’s been push back on everything that he tries to pass in Congress. It doesn’t seem like he can get anything done.

I’ve also noticed from many of my friends that they’re all now interested in politics. They’re watching all the news programs and keeping themselves up to date on the headlines. I, myself, have been a news fanatic since I was a young girl. So I’m always interested in every part of news and every viewpoint.

I won’t say who I voted for. But I will say that we all love this great country and we hope to make things better  for everyone.

That would make me and everyone else feel just lovely.

Approaching The First 100 Days…

Approaching The Infamous “First 100 Days”. This is what’s currently happening with President Trump. He’s approaching this presidential milestone and all the news organizations are covering it like bees on honey. What has he done? What hasn’t he done? How many times has he went golfing? How many times did he say “fake news”?  The list can go on and on.

What I find interesting is that the first one hundred days of a presidency isn’t any different than, let’s say, a new relationship. Or the first one hundred days of a new job. Even the first one hundred days of a new friend. It’s all brand new in the beginning, we’re kind of floating in the air when we think of a new boyfriend (or girlfriend). We call this the honeymoon phase. Will it last past the three month mark? Will he (or she) change before our eyes and not be the same person we met in the beginning? Will he (or she) continue on with those beautiful bouquets of flowers being delivered? These are our thoughts when we reach the First 100 Days.

The same feelings happen with a new job. It’s all brand new and exciting, you’re meeting all new people and getting to know the basics of your new job assignments. After the First 100 Days your medical benefits kick in. And also at that time you have a pretty good idea if you like the job.

The “First 100 Days” of anything in life is a tell-tale sign of new beginnings and excitement. But also fear of the unknown.

Make those “First 100 Days” of anything in life all it can be. Just make it lovely.

Love,

Rose

SCHOOL…AND JORDACHE JEANS

It is indeed that time of year again. Back to School. I remember when I was a schoolgirl and the end of Summer meant it was time to get all new clothes. Yes, we had all new clothes for the upcoming school year. Boy, did I love going shopping for that. The best year for shopping was 1979.  That was the year when Jordache, Corniche, Sassoon, Gloria Vanderbilt and Members Only Jackets (I still have mine by the way) were in style. Disco hit like an inferno. If you weren’t wearing these jeans and dancing to the hustle, what were you doing?

Some things have changed since then. The clothes of choice are now no clothes. Social Media has allowed everyone to showcase their assets and leave nothing to the imagination.

Even school lunches have changed. No longer are the spaghetti with meatsauce dishes along with two chocolate cookies. Now it’s a tray filled with fruits and vegetables. Let’s not forget gluten-free. Are you gluten-free? If you’re not, are you a vegan, a vegetarian, soy-free, nut-free, meatless, no dairy, no carbs? What are you? Because you have belong to a food group. These are the times.

Just remember to wear your fashion style with pizazz. Walk with stride and show off your lovely self. And eat whatever food you’d like. Life is filled with fun and you should always enjoy every flavor it.

Rose

Sultry Summer Nights…

image

A velvety and silky evening laying poolside in beautiful Palm Beach, Florida. It’s the so-called off-season in South Florida, however, it’s anything but that. If you’re willing to put up with heat and humidity during the day, you’ll still have streets, shops and restaurants all to yourself. And then you’ll be treated to warm and comfortable nights suitable for sleeping under the stars.

Here’s to Summer. It ain’t over yet.

BRIGHTER THAN THE SUN…

I Leave June 2016 With Half The Year Gone And With These Lyrics…

‘Don’t you blink you might miss it
See we got a right to just love it or leave it
You find it and keep it
‘Cause it ain’t every day you get the chance to say
Oh, this is how it starts,
Shining how we want, brighter than the sun.’

The Oscars Of Fashion Is Back…The Met Gala.

Ahh, the most exciting and thrilling time of year has arrived, The Met Gala of 2016. This years theme is “Manus x Machina” Fashion in an Age of Technology. I cannot wait to see all the beautiful dresses.  One of my favorite designers is Oscar de La Renta. His designs always stand out from the rest. You know it’s an Oscar. You just do. Another favorite of mine is Calvin Klein. He recently said in an article that, these days it’s about how many followers you have and not about the brand, the vision. He wants his models to represent his brand, not because of all the followers they have on social media. I happen to agree with him. How about you? Do you agree as well?

I wonder who Anna Wintour will be wearing. If Kim Kardashian will get an invitation again? Of course she will. She’s Kanye’s wife. What will be the color of the night? Will sheer gowns be the trend?

I cannot wait. It’ll be just lovely.
